…The roast pork was tender, juicy, and for once made up, by far, the majority of the meat in the sandwich. The slice of ham is not a random redundancy of pig here, adding a welcome layer instead of some added fat, “cured” flavors, and salinity. The pickles were properly bright, without being to sweet, sour or “punchy”. …Yes, warm, thick slices of bread singing with bouquets of vanilla and nutmeg were a great base for the assortment of berries and melon and cantaloupe. The bacon had perfect “chew” and great flavor without being overly salty. The mellow maple rewarded me by topping mouthfuls of however many different elements I could fit on my fork at one time…. … Again, though, this place, with its almost Alice in Wonderland ambience, is a place where the food supports a bigger idea. It’s located right next to a megaplex and conveniently located near several large and small office buildings. You would celebrate birthdays here, or grab a quick plate before catching that 8:10 movie. This is a place where you bring the one you like on the date right before you get serious.
