New Plates from Crate & Barrel

I’m not the type of person who “purges” things, belongings, etc. Which is great because it saves me from “over-buying”. But every once in a while, I get the urge to acquire a “new classic”, an item or set of items that will become my new traditional, everyday items that will even partially define—or at least—explain my personality.

So, a few weeks back, I decided I should have a new set of plates, replacing in part the plates that I’ve enjoyed for over 14 years and whose selection were predicated on the color scheme of my apartment. I have since re-colored all of my studio apartment’s walls and, much more recently, have made more than a hobby of taking photos of food.

So, after a few hours of doing research, I found this great, clean, subtle-yet-modern plates from Crate & Barrel that I thought would be best for food presentation, both for entertaining guests as well as for the camera.

As of the time of this post, I am only minutes away from going to the supermarket to prepare my first meal to be photographed on one of these plates. Would tell what I’m making, but I’d prefer it to be a surprise (read, I have to make sure it comes out okay first!). So, keep your fingers crossed for me…! =)
