The True Gift That Keeps On Giving….

I AM ONE LUCKY FELLOW. ~~One of my Facebook friends…~~ One of my dear, long-time friends, of whom I’ve had the blessing of reconnecting with—often—on Facebook, has admitted to being a PHUDE fan. She has just recently become the first person to get involved in the PHUDE process as well.

Earlier this week, my apartment buzzer rang. Not expecting a delivery, I assumed that it was a delivery for another apartment. I answered, “Hello?”, expecting to soon alert the person on the other side of the intercom that they had the wrong apartment.

“UPS”, came the response, surprising me, yes, but now making me somewhat curious, as I have a natural aversion to surprises. As the UPS guy came up the stairs, I asked, “For Kerry Cheeseboro?”

“Yes. That you?”

“Yes.”

I signed the little electronic box and brought my parcel box into my apartment. The box was from Williams Sonoma, and I started to panic that I might have ordered something online while I was completely inebriated and now had absolutely no recollection of doing so!

I opened the brown box and revealed a very nicely wrapped box from inside, tied with a silk bow and a cute trinket. I opened that box and found inside four beautiful, colorful Provence Dinner Napkins from Williams Sonoma.

I surveyed the box to find the invoice, and after sifting through the fine print, found this message on it:

“LOVED YOUR RECENT TRIXIE POST ON PHUDE…THERE WAS ONLY 1 THING MISSING. ENJOY! XOXO CAROLINE”

I cannot tell you how much my heart swelled up; this gift was so sweet, so thoughtful, and so well thought out! Especially since I’m not use to receiving gifts. But I’ve never missed receiving gifts, since, with having people like Caroline in my life, I am rich with the gifts of truly great friendships!
