THERE’S A DECENT BRAND THAT already comes prepackaged in a box. It has the rice, seasoning, and a small tin can with the vegetables and seafood.

If you want to do what I did, and bump this up a little, I added some a half pound of raw shrimp, a can of whole clams, and a smaller can of smoked oysters to the cooking process, right after adding the rice, seafood, and vegetables as instructed.
The result is all the flavor of a decent paella, with fresher, more robust bites of freshly cooked seafood. And it also happens to decorate a plate pretty well if you—and/or your guest—are hungry.
