Quick Post | Going Green

…Vinegary, sour, fully and richly brined, these snap on the outside with a modicum of tooth pressure and chew with a juicy crunch that shoots flavor all over the inside of your mouth…. [Full post]

Fried Fish Fix

…I couldn’t even believe the size of the sandwich. Not one or two filets, but six, maybe eight? I lost count. Each one, crackly crispy-skinned on the outside, beautifully seasoned, wrapping some nicely firm and flaky white fish, clean with flavor. Soft bread assists each chew and swallow while creamy tartar sauce bright with finally chopped pickles added the appropriate amount of spark for my tongue’s enjoyment…. [Full post]

Hot Belly and Flaming Hare

…Your first question, probably: What did the rabbit taste like? I could usually tell you. I’ve had it once before, in a stew, and in that particular application, it was only subtly gamey, and it absorbed the flavors of the broth and vegetables that surrounded it…. [Full post...]

Sweetest Discovery

…We all agreed that each were heavenly, feeling fortunate enough that there were three of us to share this. This were so tasty and rich that if any of us were left alone with them, we’d still be suffering from the guilt…. [cont.]

Fond of Defonte’s

… No pimply-faced, faux slacker “sandwich artists” here; the real art obviously happens in the kitchen, and the proof is in the ingredients’ presentation, and in the exquisite smell of the place: more like a kitchen and less like a store. They were even baking cookies from scratch during my visit!
